My submission for Farmer's Market. Is't all about eating fresh, seasonal products. Now it's great time for all types of desserts with rhubarb. The Farmer's markets in Europe all full of this tasty stalks now. Here in a recipe with a coconut crumble (thanks to coconut flour) - fits perfect together.
Strange things pop into my head! When I saw this challenge, I thought of all the students who are supposed to be graduating now. And I thought, all of the veggies would be graduating too, but from farm to table. So, CONGRATULATIONS, you've all come a long way!
For this delish dish, we bought the herbs from our local farmers market. This year, the shopping experience at the market is different. All shoppers and vendors are required to wear masks. Shoppers can't touch the produce and must maintain 6' distance from one another. The first hour of shopping is restricted to the elderly population and those with health issues. Despite the experience, the produce tasted and looked good as usual.
It’s the season of cherries, strawberries and fresh salads again! Simply can’t get enough!
And another favourite thing you can buy at the local farmer’s market (if you can’t prepare it yourself) is the juice from elderberry flowers. So refreshing for the hot summer days with ice and a squeeze of lemon!
