This recipe was developed in a nunnery in Puebla, Mexico, to celebrate the country's independence from Spain. It has the colors of the National Flag, green from the chiles, white from the walnut sauce, and red from pomegranate seeds sprinkled as garnish over the chile. The recipe has 35 ingredients but it is not very time consuming, once all the peeling and cleaning is done. It is served in the month of September, the month of independence celebrations, when Poblano chiles are at their best.
"Pork Steak with Soy Sauce" or "Hmu See-Iw",in Thai, is my favorite food. It is inherited from my grandmom to my mom. It's so easy to make it. It just has 3 steps to cook and use just 3 ingredients to done it. Although, it looks so easy but the taste is very delicious. I suggest to eat "Hmu See-Iw" with boiled rice because you can taste more delicious. Enjoy it :)
‘Tam Rice’, or broken rice, once known as the poor’s rice as the farmers used to collect the fractured rice grains that broke during the milling and sold them for cheap. However, over years, people have become rather fond of this dish and it’s now served as an everyday meal.
The basic Tam Rice includes grilled pork chops, fried egg and vegetable aliments such as pickles, tomatoes and cucumbers.
We also take steamed egg cake (chả trứng)shredded pork with pork skin (bì), meatballs (xíu mại) or braised beef (bò kho) as optional toppings.
At some places, we also fry pork fat with sliced scallions to make a sauce for extra flavor.
Rabbit Chow Chili is a vague, throw-whatever-in-a-pot kind of recipe that I created after becoming a vegetarian. I had just come home for winter break from Columbus College of Art and Design, and my family was having chili (which I couldn't eat) so I made my own. I might get teased for eating rabbit food, but everyone agrees that my chili is worth chowing down on!
