We have never used weedkiller on our lawn, and in the spring it becomes a carpet of purple and yellow, full of violet and dandelion blossoms. This year, I thought I'd experiment with making homemade dandelion wine. My first attempt didn't turn out too badly; very strong, but with a sweet, citrus-herb mead-like taste. Part art, part science, your mileage may vary.
This is a fun and fruity drink for anyone (over 18) having friends or family round, wether it be celebrating end of exams, birthdays or a general catch up, this refreshing and sweet drink will be great alongside the occasion.
As a child, what I looked forward to most whenever my parents would treat us out to a restaurant was knowing the first drink I would order would be the Shirley Temple. I always saved the cherry until last; I don’t know how many times I used my straw to dig out that cherry from the bottom of the glass, usually hiding under the remaining ice cubes. It was part of the fun.
