"The Great Outdoors"

The lake has always been a part of my life. There is nothing like the magetsic view of Lake Michigan through the windows of Summertime. It makes my heart feel happy. I’m drawn to the warm colors of a sunrise on the water, and excited to wake up very early to capture it with my camera. It’s amazing to be a part of something so beautiful, watching the light and reflections change before my eyes. As an artist, I really love the softeness of graduated color. The pastel pink and orange back lighting of the sunset gleams on the horizon, and sparkles on the sandy beach.

This landscape artwork is a combination of my favorite Great Lakes beaches, and the whimsical architecture of the Mushroom houses in Charlevoix, Michigan. Created in Adobe Illustrator.
