Bio:

Cornelia Peckart graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 1987 with a double major in Printmaking and Installation Art. She has worked as an artist and art educator internationally in Germany, the Netherlands, the United States as well as in Canada. She currently lives in Hamilton, Ontario and is an active member of the art community. During the darkest months of the year, Cornelia paints flowers. Capturing intimate portraits of the blossoms and their foliage is a meditation that allows her to get to know the plants. Building a relationship and immortalizing the flowers before they fade. Adding abstract elements to these paintings elevates them and creates a new dynamic energy. Inspired by the natural landscape in all seasons, Cornelia enjoys the challenge of recording it in all of its splendor.
