This is one of my favorite family hikes in Upstate NY. It's right down the street from a landfill and next to Montezuma's Wildlife Refuge. On any given day, you can spot more than 40 species of birds (some rare), along with muscrats, foxes, and deer. In the spring and summer, you can look for tadpoles and come back each week as they change into frogs. We nicknamed one of our favorite paths on this hike to "toad road" because you can see so many toads as you walk along. The flowers rival an arboretums we visit now in our new location in Eastern PA.
