I said, “Pass the crackers,” but they heard, “Call the quackers and in split seconds my kitchen “helpers” flapped in laughter and chaos. Zooming just over the sugar bags and bins in “clappity-slaps,” they honked something about making punch! With beady eyes on mission they shouted, “We’re here to help!” Ok, so maybe they can help unlike their buddies in previous posts. Usually if my critters are not dropping stuff they’re stomping up flour clouds and drumming up great grief for me, not making cupcakes. BUT in this case if you want to enjoy the best punch ever please dive in with the ducks. This is delish and I’m not even a coffee drinker. Thanks to my friend, Sandra, and this concoction, that may change!
In the summertime, to keep us cool, my Mom always made us these treats. Graham crackers were good for the outer sandwiches, and so were chocolate chip cookies. Neapolitan ice cream was always a hit at our house. I loved pistachio! Any flavor really would hit the spot and keep us chill in the summer heat! 🍪🍧🍡
A simple and quick lemonade recipe to beat the summer heat! In my native language we call lemonade - 'Limbu Serbat'. It takes me to my childhood days when we would drink tons of lemonade after long hours of playtime in the sun!
Flowers, Flowers, Flowers! So many shapes, sizes and colors. Mother Nature knows what she is doing! I love gardening and what better way to not only play in the garden but nourish our souls and stomachs than adding some color and flavor to a delicious and refreshing summer salad. There are so many edible flowers but always be sure to check before eating!
I love things that are really seasonal. You have to wait until their time has come and then savor them while they last. One of those things are elderflowers. Right now on every walk I inspect the elder trees I pass to see how much longer I have to wait until the blossoms are open. I love their smell and aroma and I love the direct connection to the world around me, that gives so graciously. One of the first things I am going to make is an elderflower cordial. It is super refreshing and a wonderful treat of late spring that all of us love.
I was looking for a light dessert for my son's 21st Birthday, BBQ party (Summer, 2020), when I came across a recipe for Strawberry Mojito Sorbet.
For fun, I decided to serve the sorbet as Popsicles. The recipe is easy to make, light and refreshing, especially after all the snacks and BBQ food. Plus, they were a hit!
