Bio:

Rachel Mancour is a senior at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and editor of the Sm[ART] Commons Blog. She will receive her BA in Arts Management Fall 2019. Rachel has loved art her whole life and has been drawing ever since she can remember. She works mostly with colored pencils and focuses on realism. In the summer of 2019 Rachel interned in the curatorial department of the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA as the Walt Reed Distinguished Scholar Intern. She Independently researched and wrote about various female illustrators for publication on the Illustration History website; collaborated with other team members regarding the planning of future exhibitions; assisted in the installation, deinstallation, and shipping and packaging of exhibitions; and assisted in processing and digitizing the museum’s collections. In addition to her work at an art museum, she has also received several awards such as a Silver Key award from Scholastic Art and was in the Top Ten of the national Celebrating Art contest. She has also had five publications in the Celebrating Art books, as well as a publication in MCLA’s Spires Literary Journal. After graduating from MCLA, Rachel plans to attend UMass Dartmouth and major in Animation & Game Arts to pursue a career in animation.
