Bio:

Margarida Madeira was born in Canas de Senhorim, Portugal in 1987. She studied Communication Design in Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto and it was during her exchange year in Poland that her interest for character animation awoke. In 2010 she concluded a Masters of Animation in Barcelona, from which resulted the short-film "Olinda". "Dona Fúnfia", "Os Prisioneiros", "Especialidade da Casa" and "Playing Death", her latest animated shorts, have been selected for over forty international festivals, winning several awards. After Spain, Colombia and Mexico, Margarida is currently based in Lisbon, developing animation and illustration projects through her production company, Pickle Films.
