"Respira" is Italian for "breathe".
Living in the north of Italy, I'm very fortunate to have the Dolomites just on my doorstep. Every time I go for a hike in the mountains, I'm amazed by their natural beauty and the grounding feeling that they have on me. Their scale has a calming effect on me. I breathe them in and exhale all of my worries away.

This is my entry for the #uppercaseandtheydraw "Great Outdoors" competition.

I used a combination of watercolour, india ink, and coloured pencils to create this mountainous scene. I included textures and line details, which echo the contours and flow of the mountains with a soft, graduated sunset.
