Better known as Forgotten Cookies, this recipe takes some patience... and forgetfulness! Make them in the evening, forget all about them, and enjoy them the next day (maybe even sneak one for breakfast, we won't tell anyone)!
This recipe is something my mother would make for me when I was little in our very small kitchen. I would wait up all night sitting in front of the oven until my mother shooed me away and sent me off to bed. The wait was always worth it, though! These simple meringue-styled delicacies are something to behold and once you've had one, you'll want at least three more.
This is an old recipe I translated from French.I still own the original piece of paper on which my Mémé (grand-mother) wrote the recipe. She used to make those delicious truffles, she always had a jar of them in her fridge and I just loved picking one truffle every so often .....
Cookies are my favorite dessert, especially chocolate chip ones. I like to think these little magical beans snuck into my kitchen late at night and whipped up a delicious batch. Adapted from Amanda Hesser's NYT cooking recipe. Created for the September 2017 Crush Illustration Collective challenge!
