Named for the island of Capri, this classic Italian salad is as summery as it gets. Juicy ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil leaves are the three main ingredients. Thinly sliced red onions are a wonderful addition, but optional. Layer on a platter, sprinkle with salt & pepper, drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar on top. Serve with crusty bread.
In the summer, I love to eat salads of all kinds. This pasta salad is really just a salad with pasta on it instead of a traditional mayo or vinaigrette-based pasta salad. Sometimes I make my own dressing and croutons, and sometimes they're store-bought. Anyway you toss it, this salad's a summertime specialty!
inspired by vintage advertisements of canned foods from the 1950's, I wanted to create a fun kitschy vibrant picnic featuring an array of delights such as elaborately moulded jello, chiffon pie, and shrimp cocktail. Of course no picnic would be complete without ELLIE B'S BAKE BEAN CASSEROLE SPARKLER.
One of my favorite parts about vintage food advertisements are the strange recipes included alongside the ad, so I just had to come up with a whacky dish to accompany my new fictitious bean brand! Of course you can alternatively eat Ellie B's beans straight from the can, and be sure to bring extra to share with the ants!
