Lotis or also famously known as Rujak Buah is an Indonesian version of fruit salad. Chopped tropical fruits combined with palm sugar dip seasoned with chillis, peanuts, shrimp paste and salt. Even more delicious with a hint of sour tamarind taste. Refreshing tropical style rainbow of healthy snack!
When I was in Thailand, coconuts and papayas were everywhere. I often bought ripend papayas from a local market near by where you could buy fresh vegetables and fruits at quite affordable prices. I remember the smell of ripend papayas was so irresistible there. Right after coming back from the market, I cored a half-cut papaya and always put my favorite coconut ice cream in it! That was my favorite treat on a hot day and it looked just like a lovely yummy boat floating on a tropical ocean! The combination of papaya and coconut is simply divine. These papaya coconut ice pops are reproduction of my favorite icy delight in Bangkok in a bit different form :)
Thai Green Papaya Salad (known in Thai as Som Tam ส้มตำ) is an extremely popular dish in Thai cuisine. It's fresh, and balances all the flavors of sweet, spicy, salty, and sour, to perfection on a single plate. In Thailand, Som Tam is eaten with Thai sticky rice. You can grab a small ball of sticky rice in your fingers, dip it into the Green Papaya Salad dressing, and then pop it in your mouth :)
