Play Along: Holiday Sweets! This illustrated recipe celebrates my love for Italy, the magic of owls and delicious star cookies. I discovered this recipe (created by Mary Ann Esposito) many years ago in a Tomie dePaola book, Jingle The Christmas Clown. I try to make these every year for Christmas.
I love anything Thai, so a refreshing Thai basil sangria for the summer is definitely a double win! The porthole was created as an aesthetic idea for people to be able to see the nicely arranged ingredients of their cocktail, as the servers in a bar/restaurant are pouring their drinks out through its spout.
As a child, what I looked forward to most whenever my parents would treat us out to a restaurant was knowing the first drink I would order would be the Shirley Temple. I always saved the cherry until last; I don’t know how many times I used my straw to dig out that cherry from the bottom of the glass, usually hiding under the remaining ice cubes. It was part of the fun.
Just another Tequila Sunrise........ the one made famous by the Rolling Stones and Eagles back in the early 70's in CA, plus the orginal one from AZ........and remember dont let the sun set on ya just because you had to many sunrises, drink responsibly and enjoy!
