It doesn’t have to be hot in order to feel like you need to be cool. Sometimes mentally (and physically) I like to keep cool. Right now we’re going through a heatwave, one way I like to keep my mind nice and cool is to lay with no clothes on under a threadbare vintage quilt have - it breathes beautifully! I put on my hangover mask (remember to keep it in the fridge all day before putting it on) and then put in my ear buds, press play on my favourite app, the Calm App, and listen to the singing birds or the cascading waterfalls and drift off into cool, relaxed oblivion. Bliss...
So much emphasis is based on who we are as a parent, spouse, friend, employee, etc. . We can often find ourselves run down, overwhelmed, and our energy depleted. My focus for this illustration is the importance of prioritizing ourselves. There are many things we can do to take that time to replenish, refuel, and relieve our minds and bodies of stress. In order to be our best for others, we must remember to take care of our own needs. This is a recipe for self love. Everyone's individual recipe is a bit different but it can be most simply stated as not placing yourself on the back burner!
An ancient Japanese beauty ritual is to use roasted ground adzuki beans to exfoliate and polish the face. Just beans and water is all you need! This entry is enspired by the Beans Around the World Contest with tdac and the US Dried Bean Council. It’s a recipe, but not one for eating;)
Good scientific results are repeatable: try making multiple batches in all your favourite colours! It's fun for messy parties, too.
