For the prim and posh and tea lovers alike, an afternoon tea party would be the best birthday bash. Throw an elegant affair British-style with beautiful linens, delicate china wares and shiny cuttleries. Then serve your guests with dainty finger foods, traditional scones, cream and jam and mini desserts. Select your favorite loose leaf tea and never forget milk and sugar on the table. Lastly, what is a birthday party without a layered cake?
I am a firm believer that all cake is birthday cake, but I am also a sucker for gimmick food, and I love the "Birthday Cake Flavor" craze going on now. I am not going to lie, Birthday Cake Popcorn may be the greatest food stuff of all time!
Birthday Bash - I choose the idea of a Birthday picnic for my illustration. It has been raining all week here so not really picnic weather, but it is coming! I love those sunny days when you can just relax with friends and enjoy munching away at a delightful feast, a perfect birthday celebration in my mind :).
I don’t really celebrate birthdays, but I do try to get to the Atlantic on my birthday, which sadly, doesn’t happen every year. So this is my dream birthday celebration, I’ve had it a few times overlooking the Atlantic, but never “on” the beach! I wouldn’t even mind these uninvited ‘beach” guests....the more the merrier! Celebrating my favourite foods on my birthday, lobster roll, carrot cake & the one & only, courage in a glass, the esteemed Long Island Iced Tea! perfection!! and all food tastes better with beach sand in it, and a salty spray on it!
This is hand-drawn, ink, watercoulours & coloured pencils! I think it’s the perfect beach picnic, even if it’s not your Birthday, and in my opinion, every day at the beach should be celebrated!
