This is a typical pastry my aunt prepares for Carnival! There a lot of recipes for this spacialty but this is absolutely my favs cause they are so soft and tasty (in Italy we cook them in different ways and they go under a lot of names but they are usually crispy and I don't really like that version)
A classic cookie with some family history! This cookie was actually created by my great grandmother, Freda Smith. She entered it into the Pillsbury baking competition in 1957. My mother grew up with this cookie, and she often baked it for my siblings and I! It is very simple to make and very delicious!
Created for CCAD Illustration class.
Every Saturday for years, my parents would drive us to Chinatown, San Francisco, to visit my grandparents. We'd have multi-course fresh cantonese dishes surrounded by all of my cousins, aunts and uncles. We truly feasted! Living south of The City, my mom taught us how to make won ton soup to bring chinese cooking to our suburban home. My brothers and I have very fond memories of eating bowls and bowls of won ton! Enjoy!
A very easy hummus recipe that kids will love to make. This illustrated recipe features some of my characters from my published comic strip "Life with Mr. M." It is inspired by my real life Mr M., my youngest son Michael. He was diagonosed with Asperger's and I homeschool him. I have used his love of recipes and cooking in our homeschool lessons by incorporating illustrated recipes. So far it is working out wonderfully!
