My favorite thing about summer is the farmers market - where I also worked for 10 years of my life. Fresh produce, lively faces, and a gathering spot. This roasted veggie salad recipe features my favorite farm fresh ingredients! Roast with olive oil and seasoning: beats, garlic, peppers, and carrots. Toss together fresh kale and radishes, top with the roasted veggies, olive oil, and seasoning!
Growing up , summers meant mangoes for all meals in different forms. Clean ,cut pieces for a mid morning or evening snack, freshly squeezed juice in the late evening or ,the best of them all, eating the whole fruit in one go ,rejoicing every drop and making a tasty mess all over the clothes.
Behind every bad thing, there are good things: due to our having to spend much time at home, our gardens will be abundant, well-kept and gorgeous. In May, my garden produces radishes - colourful, healthy and very easy to grow. Enjoy!
This is my take on the Play Along's prompt of Summer Salad. As soon as I saw the title, I could immediately visualise a picnic scene with various types of salads. I love my salad bowl to have various textures, flavours and colours which is what you see in this artwork!

Working with colour, working digitally and working with flowers...this has been pure joy from start to finish. Something as simple and fresh as this doesn't need a recipe. Simply some olive oil, a splash of white wine vinegar, a little salt and pepper and you can taste the sunshine.
I had so much fun with this illustration! Both the research and the process really brought me joy. Also, my 3-year-old daughter and I just planted pansies in our garden over the weekend. We are looking forward to trying them in a salad very soon! :)
