I thought we had a few cinnamon sticks left? The mustard seeds must be in the back of the cupboard somewhere. Where is the last of that chili powder, the hot sauce? Why can’t we ever find the oyster fork when we need it? It’s the Spice Thieves! They sneak in and “borrow” whatever they need.
Winter is definitely marmalade season in NZ and this year our citrus trees have given us an abundance of lemons, mandarins, grapefruits, limes, and oranges.
I love the idea of marmalade, although I rarely eat it myself because it's too sweet for me, and I enjoy making jars as gifts. It's also lovely to illustrate ;o)
The end of summer inches closer with each day, giving us the dreamiest of peachy sunset colours. What better than to match that golden hour than by making a warm, melting seasonal peach pie? Sieze the moment and enjoy some peaches before the season is over!
Growing up my mom would bake pumpkin pie with double the crust recipe just for me (I love crust; not so much the filling haha) I would anxiously await for the pie to cool enough so sneak a piece of the crust! Yum!! My house growing up was filled with Earth tones, plants, family paintings and macrame, which I wanted to include as well. This illustration brings me back to those wonderful days as a child!
