A prominent memory from my childhood summer breaks is when we would spend early hours of the morning inside our country home's kitchen which is essentially a hut with mud stoves, hen coops and delicious aroma would fill the tiny space as my grandmother makes a simple rice meal for us. All while the warmth from the firewood surrounded us.
My Happy meal illustration is the place I love to be and the meal I love to eat. A traditional British Ploughman's lunch which consists of fresh crusty bread, local cheeses, homemade chutney, pickled onions, salad and crunchy apple all washed down with a lovely local real ale whilst sat in a the garden of a country pub.
Façons thé Olympic Village in Montreal, the Jardin Tiki was a Canadian Chinese cuisine all-you-can-eat buffet. It was famous for its kitsch Polynesian decor, Tiki cocktails, and ponds with live turtles. It was also open all days long: perfect for those who don't take part in catholic celebrations.
For My Happy Foods, I always love to eat Japanese food. It's always a treat to get it for takeaway or to visit a restaurant and get some amazing sushi, seafood, ramen, and more! I love it all... the food was a highlight when I visited Japan!
My birthday is coming up, and I am easy to please, because my happy meal can be picked up at our local supermarket. Publix in Florida has a great sushi case and a sushi chef right on site making all of my favs. Their bakery has the best cakes, too. I love strawberry shortcake, but a regular vanilla cake with frosting and sprinkles is absolutely fine by me. Just don’t forget the candle! (Since I usually do the cooking in the house, this is a “store-bought” recipe for my night off 😋 that my sweetheart can easily whip up.)
