Play Along: Holiday Sweets! This illustrated recipe celebrates my love for Italy, the magic of owls and delicious star cookies. I discovered this recipe (created by Mary Ann Esposito) many years ago in a Tomie dePaola book, Jingle The Christmas Clown. I try to make these every year for Christmas.
Table full of traditional Christmas desserts! Sugar cookies, Christmas pudding, marshmallow lollipops and more!
Our family's longest-running Christmas tradition is to bake these prize-winning white chocolate cranberry bars. One year, my husband started calling it "Cramble" and the name stuck! Making paper chains, sawing down our chosen Christmas tree from the local tree farm, and keeping a countdown to Christmas written on our big family chalkboard are just a few other traditions we treasure that made their way into this illustrated recipe.
This is my families traditional Christmas cookie recipe that we’ve used ever year for as long as I can remember! We make yummy cookies and then decorate them with lots of frosting and sprinkles. These cookies are definitely one of the best things about the holiday season.
My most favorite cake of all Russian pastries is the honey cake we call is Medovik. It's a moist soft delight packed with sweet aromatic flavor. There are tons of variations of this beauty, some use condensed milk others like to go a healthier route by substituting with sour cream. Overall you can't go wrong with a good holiday honey cake!
