This is a painting that I worked on, two years ago as part of the Hundred Day Project. As a reference I used two mini clay pots that are a typical souvenir of a beautiful town called Raquira in Colombia. This town is known for producing clay pots, which I consider excellent for cooking as they keep the temperature and give a unique taste to the food.
This is a set of pans that a special friend sent me from Mexico and it was perfect to start working on my "Hundred Pots and Pans" project. I was done using Photoshop, but when I work digitally, I try to keep the same feeling and textures as when I work with oil painting. The excercise is completely differente thought!!
Eating with the seasons and buying local helps to support the environment because it reduces the number of miles your food has to travel before it reaches your plate. This in turn helps to reduces pollution.
This are some of the veggies, which are in season in February in western and northern Europe.
For the longest time, my dreams have been put away in a jar; pickled with salt and marinated with lemon, As I slowly step-by-step cultured ideas gathered inspiration until now. Now that the base batter is ready, it's time for the next step! And hopefully one day, they will be as alluring and delicious as freshly baked lemon cake.
