These are root veggies I love to draw and eat! Painting them made me think about my native Germany - we eat lots of them there, and they also grow locally! I look forward to seeing them featured :) Thank you for creating this prompt!

A delicious haul of veg plot root vegetables

There are so many ways to enjoy the autumn harvest of root veggies! Chop and drizzle them with olive oil. Then sprinkle with fresh herbs and cook them any way you like. Try adding a squeeze of citrus to the mix!

Our Thanksgiving menu of 2020 barely resembles the 1621 celebration in Plymouth MA. Turkey may have been on the menu, but shellfish, lobster, fish, eels, venison, and various ‘fowl’ were more likely on the menu for the first Thanksgiving feast. Roasted and a bit spicy vegetables always make my meals more interesting, but my favourite recipe is Quinoa salad with roasted kumara and feta cheese. *Sweet potatoes are also known as kumara in New Zealand.
