This is a traditional Iranian soup, Ash-e-anaar (aw-sh eh ann-are). Ash is a traditionally hardy soup common amongst Iranians- Ash-e-anaar, however! Is the same traditional soup combined with Pomegrante Paste. The reason I love this particular recipe so much is because my mother combines the traditional Ash recipe and the traditional Ash-e-anaar recipe and then adds her own twist to it.
I do not always make up recipes that are winners, but this is one of my better creations. Its really delicious and happens to be vegan as well as low free, but tastes amazing (which I was assured by people who are not vegan and could care less about fat content). The colors of the illustration reference the recipes ingredients and overall feel.
This is a family favourite: Babi Pong Teh, translates to Stew Pork in Preserved Soya Bean Paste. It is a sweet meat dish.
The younger ones in the family love this dish for its tender meat, silky gravy. A non-spicy dish, best served hot with toasted bread or rice on the side.
