As an artist, there's nothing I find more challenging and exciting than a blank white canvas. Rice is the blank canvas of the culinary world. There's so much I can do with Rice! When I plan my menus, I am often as creative as Jackson Pollack; sometimes I'm as simple as Grandma Moses. I always make a big batch, use some immediately, and store the rest in my Glad storage containers (honest!) When there is only a cup or two of Rice left, I make Rice Pudding. My family loves it with real maple syrup. Sometimes I'll soak the raisins in rum. That's when a plain Rice Pudding becomes a masterpiece.
