Callaloo is a traditional dish in Trinidad. Every Sunday my granny would cook callaloo and crab with white rice, a macaroni pie and stewed chicken. I remember helping her pick the dasheen bush. She would cut a lime in half and told me to rub it on my fingers as that plant turns your fingers purple :). This is one of my favorite dishes as the combination of flavors is one of a kind! Reminiscing this dish brings back precious memories of my gran, my family back home and a delicious comforting food that I crave!
