Recipes By María Isabel López
This is a painting that I worked on, two years ago as part of the Hundred Day Project. As a reference I used two mini clay pots that are a typical souvenir of a beautiful town called Raquira in Colombia. This town is known for producing clay pots, which I consider excellent for cooking as they keep the temperature and give a unique taste to the food.
This is a set of pans that a special friend sent me from Mexico and it was perfect to start working on my "Hundred Pots and Pans" project. I was done using Photoshop, but when I work digitally, I try to keep the same feeling and textures as when I work with oil painting. The excercise is completely differente thought!!
"Ají" is how we call chili in Colombia. There are thousands of ways of doing it and we love having it with "empanadas". This is how my father tought me to do it.
