Usually tumpeng served during special occasions like birthdays, wedding, etc, to show gratitude and blessings. Traditionally, there should be balance between meat, egg, and vegetables. Martabak Manis is a popular snack food in Indonesia also in part of South East Asia. Most popular filling for this pancake is either chocolate or cheese. My favorite would be combination of chocolate (Nutella) and peanut butter. Yum. Base recipe is from Tastemade website.
These noodles are tossed in savory, sweet minced pork and mushroom, Chinese cabbage, beansprouts, beef balls, topped with fried shallots and spring onion. Personally love to add chilli mixture, don't put so much if you cannot stand the heat. Oh, so yummy!
This dish usually sold at street hawker vendor nearby my home in Jakarta. It's usually served with small green chilli on the side (beware it's spicy), also with other kinds of fritters all together. Cooking ourselves is healthier version of anything you get at the street vendor (better oil and ingredients used, although it's still deep fried, please use moderately)
