I'm Irene and I'm 30. I live in a little sunny island, called Sicily.
I'm an illustrator and I've worked for several publishing houses. In my spare time I'm using to play sport and having very long walks (usually not less than one hour and a half :)), baking lots of cakes, taking pics of them and drawing them too.
I love sushi, pizza, winter and warm infusions.
I really dislike the mess, a too much hot summer (and unfortunately we have many of these here), anchovies, sardines... and neither the tomato sauce on the fish.

I love the peanut butter so much that I decided to make a healthier version, as tasty as the normal one.
I love the natural flavors of the food without oils, sugar and added dressing and this simple recipe was a discovery for me.
Peanuts, like all the trail mix, have their own natural oil and it doesn't need to add anything to get a creamy and delicious result :)
And if that's not enough, the greediest palates can always add a little maple syrup and a pinch of salt... et voilà, a creamy appetite to everybody!
Biancomangiare is a typical treat of my little and colorful Sicily. It's a poor sweet, quick and easy to cook but very very tasty.
Still today I remember the smell. My home smelled like milk and vanilla. My mom has no head for sweets (she just loves eat them!), but with the Biancomangiare she was able to gain my brother's mouthfeel and mine, making us to think she was an amazing pie maker and storming the medal "What a Godness!" :)
Today the recipe passed down to me and every time I'm enjoying this cake I go back in my mind to that kitchen that smells of milk and vanilla and I'm a child again.
