Koosje KoeneAmsterdam, NoordHolland, NL
As a kid in Holland, Koosje Koene drew all the time… and she never stopped.
She went to school to study graphic design, then worked for ten years as an award-winning professional photographer. When she realized there was a lot more to explore she followed her passion for cooking, and worked as a chef for a few years. Eventually her love of drawing and painting took over and she became an illustrator and began blogging and teaching online drawing classes.
Koosje is co-founder of Sketchbook Skool, an online video-based art school and community designed to inspire creative storytelling through illustrated journaling.
Koosje just loves to make things. With her sweet sense of humor and wild enthusiasm she combines the things that she loves most: food and art.
The TDAC team put together a wonderful collection of Koosje's illustrated recipes in a fabulous book: "Food Ink." Go to the TDAC shop to get your copy!
Recipes By Koosje Koene
I want to travel to France! For The adventure, and of course (actually in the first place) for the food, for the pastries. Traveling is currently a no go because of Covid 19, but we can still travel in our art!
All through the process of illustrating this, I have been craving croissants and pain au chocolat, and I still do!
This is a fantastic sweet alternative for choc-a-holics out there, who don't eat granulated sugar, like me.
I made this illustration, along with the participants of my online workshop 'Draw It Like It's Hot', who have been creating their own illustrated recipes to publish on TDAC.
I illustrated this recipe during 'Draw it Like It's Hot', the online workshop on drawing food and illustrating recipes.
I tested this recipe for several friends, and they all got very greedy. Warning: these bonbons are seriously irresistible.
You can also multiply the recipe and make 3 batches: one with dark chocolate, one with milk chocolate and one with white chocolate, for instance.
Try sprinkling some of them with grated dried coconut before putting them in the fridge!
The best location to enjoy this, is on one of Ko Changs beaches.
Thanks to Smile Thai Cooking school in Chiang Mai, you can taste a bit of thailand anywhere you like!
I can recommend some white rice with it, and barbeque grilled chicken...
