This is a traditional Iranian soup, Ash-e-anaar (aw-sh eh ann-are). Ash is a traditionally hardy soup common amongst Iranians- Ash-e-anaar, however! Is the same traditional soup combined with Pomegrante Paste. The reason I love this particular recipe so much is because my mother combines the traditional Ash recipe and the traditional Ash-e-anaar recipe and then adds her own twist to it.
