Here's another piece from my collaborative cookbook 'The Shelter Island 36'. The Shelter Island 36 is a collection of New England recipes developed on the East End of Long Island by Chef Jason Casey.
I had a lot of fun with the fruity accents in this dish. Yum!
Over fall and winter break, when my friends come home from school for the holidays, we have a tradition: we meet up, get cozy around a big backyard campfire, and fill each other in on everything we've missed since the last time we were all together. A big pot of hot apple cider is a staple for those nights. This recipe is really easy to throw together (in the slow cooker, on the stove, or over the fire), and it's the perfect thing to warm up a whole crowd of chilly and exhausted college students. Great as is, or spiked with a little bourbon to keep you and your whole crew warm!

I made this illustration, along with the participants of my online workshop 'Draw It Like It's Hot', who have been creating their own illustrated recipes to publish on TDAC.
