I'm in love with this granola recipe because it turns one's kitchen into a sweet, herb-y aroma heaven. Adding a bit of rosemary/sage to the recipe lineup gives this chunky treat a little flavor depth and works great as a topping on just about everything (smoothies, yogurt, ice-cream, crumble). As always, be generous with the salt ;-)

I can't even try and pretend I'm not obsessed with the buttery polenta pancakes recipe I posted awhile back. As the leaves fall and the weather turns brisk, a warm, hearty version is definitely a much needed treat. All my favorite fall flavors come together on top of creamy, buttery polenta for a most comforting meal. Everything I love about summer in a quick and easy breakfast. If you have the jam prepared beforehand, it's just a matter of slicing up some polenta and frying it in a pan. And, of course, slathering with (a dab?) of butter and a (healthy) dose of maple syrup. Topped with fresh strawberries and chia jam, it's as close to perfection as an early summer morning can get.

I recently has the pleasure of taking a holiday in Scotland and was lucky enough to tour a whiskey distillery and learn all about scotch. The most interesting part of the trip was being served whiskey porridge the next morning! I couldn't believe how the whiskey brought out the sweetness of the raisins and intensified the flavor. I'm absolutely hooked on this breakfast treat! Tip: start with a few splashes and add sweetener of choice to balance it out :)
